Here is what a Gold Medal winner looks like... SkillsUSA Competitor Lynnsie Moore, a senior in Health Occupations and South Side School District competed in Basic Health Care. Lynnsie will be heading to Nationals in Atlanta Georgia in June. We wish you the very best of luck!! Congratulations, Lynnsie! South Side Elementary Kindergarten registration for the 2024-2025 school year is scheduled for March 11-13, 2024. Please call the elementary office at (724) 573-9581 extension 1401 or 1402) between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to schedule an appointment. Entering Kindergarten students must be five years old before September 1 to enroll.
South Side seniors, Charity Tellish and Luke Moore, are raising school spirit at the school by putting spirit flags up on the flag poles. The flags are $264.00 each. On February 24, 2024, 24 middle and high school students competed in the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science. There were 6 second awards and 18 first awards – with middles school students getting 3 perfect scores and winning 3 special awards. Students winning second awards are: Alexis Gianella, Garrett Moore, Kendall Dawson, Abigail Goebbel, Allison Kemp, and Lucas Seiling. Students winning a first award and qualifying for the state competition at Penn State University are: Asa Rosak, Nolan English, Elizabeth Betke, Hailey Cain, Addison Cox, Caden Cusato, Andrew Boyd, Ian Diltz, Racheal Goebell, Reagan Kelly, Janelle Vidovich, Wyatt Vogel, Robert Betke, Rowan Goe, Austin Jellison, and Amelia Masley. Perfect scores were received by Wyatt Vogel and Austin Jellison. Ian Dilts received the Earnest P. Hall Award in Physics. Austin Jellison earned the Director’s Award in Behavioral Psychology. Awesome job everyone!

South Side HS recently formed a co-op for varsity hockey with Sewickley Academy and OLSH. Senior, Kolten Kelly #75, and junior, Braeden Mitchell #16, are playing for the team. Home varsity games are played at the RMU Island Sports Center (the game schedule is attached in the images). Good luck to Kolten and Braeden this season and a special thanks to Sewickley Academy allowing South Side and OLSH to be a part of their team!
2023 Tractor Day Parade
The South Side Honor Wall now has 66 veteran plaques on our wall. There is plenty of room for many more South Side graduates. If you need information on our Honor Wall, please email Mr. Lytle at jlytle@sssd.k12.pa.us. The wall is funded through a community grant from Range Resources.
